Hematite belongs to the category of iron oxides.
Its chemical formula is Fe2O3 (Hematit) and it is the most abundant form of iron oxide. The amount of iron in it reaches 70%. Unlike magnetite, it has no magnetic properties and over time it appears in the earth’s crust with different thicknesses due to weathering.
ُُُSteel Industries :
Hematite is most widely used in the steel industry as a raw material or iron ore for the production of iron and steel.
Painting industries :
After steelmaking, the second most important industry for the use of hematit is the paint industry. In this field, hematit is used as a pigment and coloring matter, in varnishing, and also in the production of colored coatings to protect against rust. Due to the unique beauty of hematit stone, as well as the low cost and color quality, the chemical industry has not been able to replace hematite with artificial coloring materials.
